Clean Slate

I have used many great cleansers and moisturizers.  I tend to go back to Philosophy Purity cleanser and Hope in a jar moisturizer(see picture posted).  It just makes my skin feel super clean and refreshed, and I love the clean smell of both the cleanser and moisturizer.

I also Love Revision skincare line that we sell at the clinic I work at.  I switch off between this and the purity.  I use the Revision Brightening was.

Also one thing I was blessed to get from my work which changed my skin and I can never live without is my clarisonic Pro(see above pic) This is the exact one I have and I love that it's pink:).

As far as make up remover wipes my favorite that I use to wipe off my eye makeup with first is Ponds soothing white tea and chammomile.

If the price of some of these products is too steep you might like St. Ives apricot scrub I still to this day after using all the products I have love this one! Its smells nice and gives you face a nice glow.  It really removes the dead skin, and for cleansers Neutrogena, Aveeno, and cetaphil are great drug store brands that a lot of dermatologists recommend and give away samples at their office.

***For my last skin care tip some may think I'm crazy for but if I have a pimple starting I put Honey on it and got to bed.  Honestly when I first heard of putting honey on pimples I thought yuck! But don't knock it till you try it! It doesnt work for every ones skin type but it really works for me!  Also I have mixed organic sugar mixed with honey as a facial scrub before and this is a very good DIY facial scrub and very nice to the wallet too:)  Ok go ahead and ask any questions or leave a comment about your skincare regimen. Thanks for reading!!!

  1. Have you ever tried Miracle Worker moisturizer from Philosophy? Wondering what works better for extremely dry skin hope in a jar or miracle worker? Or would you suggest something else?

  2. I have tried miracle worker and personally I love hope in a jar the most. It's light and gives my skin a glow and I have combination skin. I am oily in the summer and dry in the winter and I can use this all seasons. I think you would like this Colette. It's honestly one of the best moisturizers I've ever used, and I've tried a ton of them. I bet if you go to a philosophy counter and ask for a sample they will give you one and you can try it out first before buying it. Let me know if you try it and like it. Thanks for reading!

  4. Do you use anything to prep your skin under your makeup? Like a serum or anything?

  5. I used to use a BB cream very lightly under my foundation. I found though it made my skin lack the glow I strive for.... Since I'm aging;). There is many different BB creams out there right now since its the new hot thing. I just know for my skin I felt slightly dull looking with it and it may just have been the brand I was using at the time was more a matte base. I also used to use a primer but then again this is another product that made my skin more matte finish and I just want the dewy skin as I get older. With more matte finish it can settle in the creases and dare I say wrinkles and make us look much older. At night I sometimes use a serum which I forgot to mention in my clean slate blog called Active serum from a line called is clinical. We sell this at our clinic but if you look online under is clinical you can buy it. It's in a little blue bottle. I'm pretty basic with my skincare right now. I don't use a toner anymore I haven't felt I needed it with my clarisonic scrubbing my face so much and I felt the toners really dried me out, and I haven't been using any masks lately because I haven't fallen in love with one yet. If you know any great masks or any other products please feel free to share! Thank u so much for reading and I love sharing my advice. I hope I could help out on any way:)

  6. What do you use under your makeup and wear to bed? Also, do you have any recommendations for rosacea? I have the spider like blood vessels on my cheeks. Just wondering if you suggest anything for that.

  7. For me at the moment I just use Philosophy Purity cleanser and Hope In a Jar moisturizer. I use this morning and night, along with my clarisonic. I used to use a lot of different products but I wanted to shorten my regimen up with having two young children I needed quick and easy. I am still looking for a mask I can fall in love with. I do try new things a lot and I'm sure I will try other serums, eye creams, etc but at the moment I love this and its simple, gentle and smells so fresh. I also can say with using my clarisonic it has made a huge difference in my skin and I can't go without it. I dont feel I need to use toner since using my clarisonic. For rosacea I dont have one specific line that stands out. There is a calming zinc soap out there made specifically for rosacea. The main thing is to make sure that you dont dry out your skin or irritate your skin. Make sure your cleanser is either specifically made for rosacea or soothing and gentle. Same with moisturizer make sure its a gentle and calming moisturizer. Make sure you wear a SPF since you skin is very sensitive and as far as the spider veins there are lasers that can treat those. You can set up a consultation with a cosmetic surgery, or dermatologist clinic. The clinic I work for treats spider veins. Last thing I wanted to mention is Lush is a very organic line that's amazing. I am not sure about there cleansers for face since I use all the body products but it may be worth it to checkout there skincare as they might have a nice gentle cleanser and moisturizer. I hope I could answer your questions, and please feel free to ask more!! Thank you so much for reading! :)

  8. How about the hope in a jar? Would that be a good calming moisturizer? Is it thick? I'm not a fan of ones that make my skin look oily and greasy.

    1. Hope in a jar is very calm and not thick. It's so smooth and I barely feel it on my face! I truly love it!!! I never feel oily or greasy from this product

    2. Thank you!! Do you recommend the all skin types one or normal to oily skin? Also, does this work well even if you don't use the cleanser?

  9. I like the all skin type. With Rosacea you want to steer clear from any drying products. The hope in a jar is all around amazing product so it would still be amazing wirh or without purity cleanser. I just think they work so well together! They have little bottles to purchase in case u are scared to spend the money on the full size without knowing if u love it yet. You have great questions!!!!:)
